Team Moon Gazer is celebrating winning six awards including an Overall Category Champion at a prestigious regional icompetition
We scooped not one but 6 medals; 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals.
We, won the awards at the SIBA Indie Beer Awards Cask and Keg 2026 which are organised by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) with judging held at this week’s Peterborough Beer Festival.
We won the Category Champion and gold medal for their Stotart caramel stout in keg, while the Skidaddler milk stout (Stout and Porter Category) won Gold in the cask ale category.
The beers were entered in the regional competition for cask and keg beers and was judged against hundreds of beers from seven counties across the eastern region.
We are delighted that three of our beers were judged to be among in the top beers produced in the region and to continue our proud run of representing craft beer from Norfolk.
It’s also testament of how Moon Gazer dark beers are creating a great reputation whereas traditionally we have been known for our lighter golden ales and lagers. Not only has this opened up a new market but has also introduced a whole new audience to our beers.
Stotart, is particularly pleasing as it was one of the first specialty beers we ever produced and so for it to win such a great accolade is very pleasing.
To be awarded six medals against such a strong line up of top brewers was amazing. We take great pride in our craft beers and just love the fact that we are able to fly the flag for Norfolk – our home county of which we are so proud.
The awards are judged by a fleet of expert judges from across the UK, with beers marked against internationally recognized style guides for the different beer award categories – looking at appearance, aroma, flavour, aftertaste and saleability.
The full list of awards won by Moon Gazer is; in keg format ; Stotart Gold and Overall Category Champion (Speciality & Flavoured Beer) , Skidaddler Silver ( Stout & Porter up to 6.4%). In cask format the brewery winners were Skidaddler, Gold (Dark Beer 4.4 to 6.4%) Cheeky Jack Bronze (Pale Ale 4.5 to 5.5%), Nibbler Bronze (Session Dark Beer up to 4.4%) and Stotart Bronze ( Speciality Amber to Dark Beer).
We look forward to representing Norfolk in the national finals in March 2027.
