A new Wetherspoon pub in Fakenham will be serving a new and exclusive locally brewed beer from The Norfolk Brewhouse, when it opens on Tuesday 12 March 2013.

The Limes, in Bridge Street, wanted a local beer and you can’t get much more local than six miles down the road with The Norfolk Brewhouse Hindringham-based brewery.

Pub manager Simon Parkin (pictured left) and members of his team visited The Norfolk Brewhouse, run by husband and wife team David (pictured right) and Rachel Holliday (pictured front), to help with the brewing process.

David Holliday said: “When we heard that the team at The Limes were looking for local beer and very keen to offer a wide range of real ale, we thought why not bring them along and brew a beer especially for them.

“They certainly got stuck in on the day and hopefully learned a lot about the craft of ale. We made sure that it was a hands-on experience, emptying grain sacks, sorting hops and, of course, lots of cleaning!”

Simon Parkin said: “Thanks to David and Rachel for their efforts, it has been a great project and a fantastic opportunity for two new local businesses to support each other.

“All we need now is a name for the beer, which I have asked the team to choose.”
