Lager , lager , lager – we are celebrating winning champion premium lager at a prestigious regional brewing competition. The success also puts us through the the national final to be held in Liverpool next March.
We won the award at the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) Eastern region awards, for bottles and cans held in judging across the UK this December.
We won the Gold medal for our Stubblestag (premium lager category).
The lager was entered in the regional competition for bottle and can beers and was judged against beers from seven counties across the eastern region. Over fifty brewers, beer sommeliers and industry experts attended the awards.
We are delighted that we were judged to be in the top beers produced in the region and to continue our proud run of representing craft beer from Norfolk.
It’s also testament of how Moon Gazer’s move into gluten free lagers has not only opened up a new market but also held the quality. Our gluten free beers are effectively produced in the same way as all our beer but the addition of a clearing agents reduces the gluten, which has introduced a whole new audience to our beers.
Stubblestag, is particularly pleasing as it was one of the first beers we ever produced and have been a feature of our brewery and the Norfolk lager scene for many years.
The SIBA Bottle & Can Independent Beer Awards 2024 are judged by a fleet of expert judges from across the UK, with beers marked against internationally recognized style guides for the different beer award categories – looking at appearance, aroma, flavour, aftertaste and saleability.
Neil Walker, SIBA Head of Comms praised this year’s winners, “The SIBA Independent Beer Awards are one of a kind in the UK, judged by expert beer sommeliers, experienced international judges and master brewers – to win at these awards you really must be the best of the best so a huge congratulations to all of this year’s medalists and in particular our Overall Gold Category champions.”
We will now be heading to the National SIBA awards in Liverpool.
