Taste Guide: Well balanced smooth pale ale with gentle hopping notes of citrus, peach, and tropical fruits.
Our American Pale ale is coming back in cask due to pester power. It proved so popular that we brewed it again and now you want us to brew it again.
It was the first time we would have brewed this beer style – a style which has grown in popularity and is characterised by its approachable easy-drinking nature.
Light and straw coloured it is visually the same as many pale pales, but is has no particularly dominating malt or hop characteristics but focuses on being rounded and smooth – a classic beers made all the better for its simplicity.
That’s why we chose the name – Sit Tight – yes its from the Names of The Hare poem – but equally we thought it fitted so well, just sit down, sip your beer and enjoy – no need to rush anywhere.
The American hops used in Sit Tight are one of our favourites El Dorado – think citrus, stone fruit and tropical notes, and also Cashmere – for its complex and intensely fruity aroma, with lemon, lime, peach, and melon notes.
Ok we’ve stayed loyal to our good old Mars Otter Extra Pale for the malt but also using maize to add a slightly softer mouthfeel.
