We are truly thrilled to announce that we have passed the £50,000 milestone in our fundraising for local cancer charity It’s On The Ball.

Our target of £60,000 is still a long way away but it fills us with immense pride to have hit this latest milestone, and it is all thanks to the support of so many people who are backing our campaign to stop young men needlessly dying of testicular cancer.

We use the word ‘needlessly’ advisedly since no young man need die – 96% of cases of testicular cancer can be successfully cured, but that is dependent on early diagnosis. If diagnosis is delayed – which can happen simply, by ignoring the symptoms – or tragically by simply being too embarrassed to go to the doctors – then that 96% can rapidly decrease all the way down to 0%.

That is because although one of the more curable of cancers it is also one of the fastest spreading. So, spotting it early and acting on it is so especially important.

Every penny that we raise allows It’s On the Ball – which is a small Norfolk-based charity made up largely of trustees who are testicular cancer survivors – to spread the word.

Awareness of the disease is important and promotes the need for guys to check themselves once a month, and it is this monthly check which could see every cancer caught in time to save that life. How simple, is that – you can save a life just by talking.

The charity also spends the funds on supporting patients who are unfortunate enough to be undergoing treatment. This can include support packs – but also buddy support – givig the patient the support of someone who has gone through the treatment and survived it – this empathy with the patient’s situation is so important. How often have you sat at the doctors and not known what to ask?

Well, the support guys know all you need to know and know just what you are thinking – but most of all they are an understanding ear.

The beer push is a crazy idea that has caught the imagination – and having completed two mammoth pushes so far David is about to embark on his biggest and toughest challenge yet when he attempts to push 75kg 7 ultra marathons in 7 days – that’s 350km!

This mammoth challenge will take place in Norwich in October 2025 when ‘David will push the barrel the same route for 7 days covering 350km (210 miles) in a week. You can see the route here:
