- Taste profile: Robust yet balanced bitterness with citrus, grapefruit, floral and spice notes
Say hello to California Jack our all-new West Coast IPA.
This is our first venture on this style of IPA – and will be a typically hop-forward, bitter, and crisp with a clear appearance, piney and citrusy flavours, and dry finish.
At its essence, a West Coast IPA is crisp, refreshing, and loaded with flavours like caramel malts, citrus, tropical fruits, herbal, earthy, dank, and pine needles.
We have selected two classic USA hops – Chinook will bring bold grapefruit, citrus and spice while Centennial packs a punch with citrus and floral notes.
We will also dry hop with Cashmere a hop which is on banging form this year and brings a rounded peach, sweet fruits and lemon note in the aroma.
For the malts we are using a lager malt with Crystal 100 adding a bit of colour and complexity, while a smooth mouthfeel will come from the use of Dextrin and Chit.
Initially were will have a limited edition in cask as we are brewing mainly for canning – but we are sure to bring it back in cask this summer.
Cheers California Jack
