NEW BEER: Beat the Pad 5% abv Single hop Mosaic American IPA characteristic pine, citrus, blueberry, mango and passionfruit notes.

We are delighted to once again be working with the Norwich Amateur Brewers to bring one of their member’s brews to life and for it to be showcased in pubs across Norfolk and Suffolk.

The group hosts a festival and competition each year where ethe members bring their best brews which are judges by a panel of professional brewers and people in the industry – including ourselves – and the winners get for their brew to be brewed commercially.

This year the team will be working with Malcolm Huggins who produced an American style IPA using a single hop – Mosaic – with its characteristic pine, citrus, blueberry, mango and passionfruit notes.

We use the hop in then boil ad also dry hop it with Mosaic pellets post fermentation – so it is indeed full-on Mosaic.

The malt bill which uses Maris Otter of course as well as some, Munich, wheat and a sprinkle of crystal and is pretty simple and gives a ghostly pale golden colour with a nice smooth rounded finish.

We pretty much take the recipe that won Malcolm the accolades but make some minor adjustments based on our equipment and experience but essentially the brew is Malcolm’s and we are pleased that he has allowed to brew it with him.

Do check it out at the beginning of October…
