The fab team at our chosen charity – It’s on The ball – need your help to name a new beer from us here at Moon Gazer.

To help raise awareness for this Norfolk based charity we will be creating a brand new beer which will hopefully be in pubs across Norfolk. You may well have already enjoyed our bottled beer for the charity – Tobi’s Tipple – but our new brew will need a name.

The hope is that the beer will get people talking – it’s more about raising awareness than anything else, what’s important is to get people chatting about the message which It’s On the Ball promotes – awareness of testicular cancer which you may be surprised to hear is actually the most common form of cancer among young men. So, as you see it may be a fun logo and name, but it’s a serious message.

So, back to the beer.

The new brew will be light amber in colour – not golden but not brown, something sitting in the middle, a little lighter than our existing Moon Gazer amber if you have enjoyed that.

As you would expect from Moon Gazer it will have Maris Otter malt as its backbone, and will involve an English hop – Goldings.

Goldings is a traditional English aroma hop variety valued for its smooth (almost sweet), delicate, slightly spicy aroma that produces the classic Golding finish and forms the basis of many well-known and respected recipes. Its taste characteristics are earthy, honey and spicy.

As for the strength of the beer it will be a sensible 4% abv.

Please do pop your thinking hats on – it’s just for fun and so no prizes other than the kudos of knowing that the name you choose may well help to save lives. You see by getting people talking about testicular cancer we can spot symptoms early and 95% can be cured! Well that’s a pretty good prize isn’t it?

Please send any suggestions which you may have to the team at It’s On the Ball.
